Importing missing artwork

A big collection almost always has gaps: the rip from years ago with no embedded art, the artist with no photo. Instead of fixing them one at a time, let BitDek sweep the whole library.

Where it lives

Settings → Integrations → Import Missing Artwork. The toggle (on by default) enables fetching artwork from TheAudioDB, a community-built music database. A Learn more button shows the full privacy note.

Running a scan

With the integration on, tap Scan and Import Artwork. BitDek finds every artist and album with no artwork, looks each one up on TheAudioDB, and imports what it finds. A progress bar counts through the library as it works.

When it finishes you’ll see the tally, something like “Scan complete: 4 artists, 12 albums updated,” or “All artwork up to date” when there’s nothing to do. Scan Again re-checks the library, and Retry Failed gives another chance to items that came up empty last time.

The rules it follows

  • Only fills gaps. The scan touches artists and albums that have no artwork at all.
  • Never overwrites. Artwork you already have, whether imported with your files or chosen yourself, is left alone.
  • Needs internet. Lookups and downloads happen online. Once downloaded, the artwork lives on your device.

What gets shared

Only artist and album names are sent to TheAudioDB. No personal information, no listening history, no file metadata. Downloaded artwork is stored on your device with no ongoing connection, and you can switch the integration off anytime. BitDek works fine either way.
